I don't know If I am eligible to be a sponsor under the family class(spouse) because my income. My spouse and I are having a child together and I am 7 months pregnant and have not been working since the start of my pregnancy. My spouse currently lives in the US and I want to begin sponsorship but am not sure If I can because of my income. I am not on assistance from the government and I am currently being supported by my family.
My spouse and I are both young (I am 19 and he is 21) He is currently working only part-time in the states.

What can we do and what are our options?

Any help would be appreciated! I just want to know If I can sponsor or not and what we should do to become eligible.

*edit* When we start the application, will we only need to send in the sponsorship forms to see if I am eligible or do we send all the forms (ex: applicant and immigration forms) as well?

For sponsoring spouse you do not need to be employed or have income, only condition is that you can not be in welfare other than disability.
For your confirmation and satisfaction please consult CIC's website and read the family (spouse section) and the form IMM1344 states that.

The application will ask how you intend to support yourself if you have no income, despite "no income" requirement. The "no income" requirement is not entirely true. What is true is that there is no minimum income requirement. Just cause there is no minimum income requirement doesn't mean it is "no income" rule. CIC will want to know how you will not resort to social assistance if you don't have a job.

One possible way to over come this shortfall, is an undertaking from your family, they would take care of both of you until the time both / one of you start working and take care of your financial requirement. While this may not guarantee a PR, your application has more support to press your case.

How would I go about my family starting an undertaking? My mother said she would support us until we needed.
Would she have to fill anything out or write an affidavit?

Write an affidavit, signed and notarized by a lawyer. This will give you more leverage in proving support to CIC.

Thank you so much!
I was wondering If/when we send in the application for sponsorship, do I only need to send in my sponsorship eligibility forms or all of the forms together?

All the forms together. Otherwise CIC will see it as "incomplete application" and send it back.

You will need to complete and send in a complete application package, including all forms and documents required for sponsor and applicant as per the checklist.

Hi there. I was almost in the same situation as you. I'm 20 any husband is 21 and we have a baby. I just started working and i was so worried that they would not approve my application because my income was low. I called them and asked them if my mom could be a co-signor but they toldme that it's not possible because there is no income requirement. I stillgot approved to sponsory husband. Hope this helps! Goodluck!
