Hi Guys,

My sister just got her PR in another province (Manitoba) but I was able to attend the information session last June (I would not be able to register to the session if my sister is already a PR at that time). I have already sent an EOI last week but once I get an ITA, I will have to declare my sister on the application and CIC. What are the chances of getting a rejection here?

Another thing, I have checked also Manitoba nomination and it stated that my sister should have been living in the province continuously for at least one year. Is that 1 year from getting PR? She has been living for more than a year since she applied for inland spousal sponsorship.

BTW, I am single but my SO is already waiting for her provincial nomination for NB (we both attended the session but I wasn't able to submit EOI).

Thanks!

Each application is determined on its own merit. Equal chances either way. Nevertheless you are concerned with this clause on the guide:

NOTE: Applicants with family members or other ties to another province will be carefully screened to ensure the commitment to living in New Brunswick is genuine.

Given your sister has gained PR, and will be declared in your application, this is a significant tie to another province. This can be offset if there are other more stronger ties to NB (i.e. economic - a significant job offer etc.) - that the potential for you to stay and settle in NB is greater. Just the same, expect your application to be throughly looked over. I would say this (family in another province) weakens your NB application if there are no other potential ties to NB that can offset the presence of family/ties in another province.

I believe in the NB EOI, there is a question on why do you want to live in NB, but I don't know if they ask this again after you get the ITA in NB.

In case you do, I suggest submitting a letter of explanation that expounds on your intent to live and settle in NB permanently, you've been looking at job prospects and residences there, etc. etc.

Thanks ragluf and bellaluna. Unless I have a job offer, I guess I won't continue to pursue NBPNP as I do not want to risk -100 in the future for Manitoba.

BTW for Manitoba PNP >> Manitoba Supporter,
* able to provide documents proving they reside and are established in Manitoba and have been living in the province continuously for at least one year (ex: copy of Manitoba Health Card)

My sister has been living for more than a year since she applied for inland spousal sponsorship. But does it count or this should be the start of official PR date? Thanks!

OK, if you'd rather migrate to Manitoba then, then you should wait for your sister to become qualified to sponsor you. I believe it should start from the date she became PR.

Your information session for NB is good to send an EOI for 2 years so at least you have that plan B.

Technically from the start of when she legally entered and resided in Canada ( entry with legal status - on a work/study permit or as a permanent resident). However, entry is different from being 'established' - established is taken more with having settled in the province and having economic (i.e work, business etc.) ties.

Futher, the statement said "established" and provides as example a copy of the Manitoba Health Card. If your sister has been living for more than a year in MB - check when her health card has been issued, and start from that date and see if it has been a year from that. See here: http://www.gov.mb.ca/health/mhsip/#Q1. That should give you an indication of the period for "established" residence.

Thanks, actually my sister became PR last September but she had a health card/work permit already last Feb. So that means I can apply earlier right?

On the basis of you being eligible to submit an application, you should be able to count from that time your sister had the HC.

Hi,
I have an NB ITA. Do they really don't ask for documented proof of what we have stated in EOI?
Because I have, whatever they demanded from me after ITA.
