Will I be able to do this? US visitor staying awhile, but returning home monthly

My work schedule and location allows it so that I may travel to Canada for 2-3 weeks a month. I want to get a place in Canada for a year and commute back and forth as needed. I will not be working in Canada at all, just doing some traveling around Ontario and such. I would keep it under 180 days in a year. Would I get hassled by the border guards over this going back and forth?

You could be hassled by the border guards if they notice that you are spending a lot of time in Canada and may suspect that you are working illegally or something like that. If you get a Nexus card, you could cut down on some of the hassles that go with crossing the border.
