Hello all,
I was wondering if a house foreclosure or bankruptcy affected in any ways the Canadian Immigration process (FSW) ?
Thank you all for your input

I'm not sure, but I heard from some folks that the Canadian Immigration Officers may ask if you are debt free before allowing you in the country, is this true? Has anyone had any experiences with this?
Thanks you all for you input.

I agree with khanm,
Since your creditscore is never seen during immigration process, so maybe they don't want to know all these details and I see no reason that you should tell them in ahead until they ask you this question.

many people (i think) won't be debt free. What about all those who still want to own a house in their original country and want to pay it off or those with credit card balance and plan to pay it off.

Guys,

Credit score has nothing to do with the immigration, I have not heard if they ask this in an interview, but just in case if it is asked, it will be because just to measure your net worth not that you have to pay the debts and then immigrate. CIC will not act as a collection agency for your debts.

And what about the debts in the countries where they cannot be tracked such as no social security or credit system? How they find out your debts, you can say I have no debts and they have to believe it.
