Hi All,

A candidate who has 18 months experience outside of Canada, and 6 months experience in Canada, can he/she combine the 2 experiences and claim a 2 yr experience in their Express Entry if their profile is falling under FSW

Edit: you can combine your total work experience, just make sure at least 1 year is continuous work, regardless of how many employers you worked for.

You need to have annual consecutive experience in each job you are claiming points for.

You will only get 1 years experience for fsw and zero for cec

That's not correct, only 1 year of continuous work in a particular NOC is the minimum, regardless of how many jobs you worked.

Yes, you can. The 18 months in one NOC will qualify you under FSW, and then any other work that you've done will be added to give you the total work experience. You have 2 years of work experience (both jobs have to be NOC 0,A,B).

You're right, I take what I said back. The CRS questionnaire actually says:

ii. In the last 10 years, how many total years of foreign skilled work experience do you have?

Hi All, thanks for the response. I realized that having 2 yr work experience instead of 1 is not making any difference to the CRS score. It's 1-2 yrs experience or 3 yrs. There is no benefit of having 2 yrs experience over a 1 yr experience. The benefit in the CRS score comes when you cross the 3 yr experience mark.
But thanks a lot for letting me know that foreign work exp. and Canadian work experience can be combined
