Hello,
I am recently graduated here in Montreal, Canada. My convocation will be in Nov'2016. I need to apply visit visa for my wife to attend my convocation here in Montreal. Right now I am on open work permit in Canada and looking for job. I have not applied immigration yet.
Is it feasible to apply visit visa for my wife from Pakistan on basis to attend convocation???
I heard if I file immigration then it would be difficult to get visit visa
YOUR OPINION PLEASE???

Getting a Visitor Visa is reasonably straight forward. In this case, if it was me applying, I would:
- Buy the tickets (return flight) before applying. Include this with your letter.
- Write an invitation letter for her to pass to the Visa Office. This should contain: your passport (so they know you wrote it), maybe your current visa, that you have paid for her trip and you will support her while she is here, and what you intend to do while she is here. Include a pamphlet for convocation. Also include some means for them to be able to contact you.
- Buy travel insurance, and include that with your letter.

With all of that, there should be little reason for them to deny a visa. I have gone through the process of acquiring a visa for my wife to come to Canada, as well as her family to be able to visit while she is on an inland PR application. They have never been refused...
