Hi everyone, ive been dealing with my wifes application for PR status. I came back from Japan to Canada a week ago, she( japanese citizen) is getting all her paperwork ready from there and will send it to me , at which point i will attach my applications and send them all to Ontario.

so my question is about the medical exam she took. Ive read so much that you should have everything you need to be all together before you send all teh applications to Ontario which will eventually send them if all is good to Manilla( for japanese applications) . My wife took teh exam in Japan and they said they will send it to Manilla themselves. I was a bit worried, thinking when we send all our stuff to Ontari, they will send it all back explaining they need the hospital exam, thinking it wasnt even done.

Or is this the way it is? Should i attach a note? Or push the hospital to give it to her?

thank you. any help is always appreciated.

Hey Dennis,

it is normal! all applicants do the same. The DMP ( I suppose she has gone to a DMP that you have taken from the list, not any hospital or doctor) has normally given her a form to prove that she has taken the exam. THe form has a unique number.. so you add that to the application ( MIssissauga will see that she has done the medicals), and once the sponsorship part is approved, the file will go to Manilla, where the medicals ( which have been sent directly to Manilla) will be matched up with your application.

SO the only thing that your wife needs from the hospital is the form ( specific to CIC) that she has been there - not the results themselves, as it is confidential.
Good luck,
Sweden

We took our meds last week, and the doctor said it was going to Manilla and not to be alarmed (our VO is Singapore). This is something new they just started doing in the past few months from what I was told, and that the file will be sent to our proper VO once processed.

Most medicals are sent to a "regional center" first, and then dispatch to the correct VO. So it's important to be sure that on the "green slip" that the DMP gave you, the correct VO is indicated - the final one that processes applications.

Hi Dennis,

I'd like to share my experience: I'm a Canadian citizen who's about to sponsor my Indonesian wife. Currently I'm still in Indonesia, in the process of completing the (humongous) application together with my wife. Just yesterday I called the DMP's office in Jakarta to schedule an appointment for my wife's medical checkup. The person who answered me (it was a nurse who works for the DMP) told me that the DMP will send the result to....guess what...Manila! So it looks like we're in the same boat... ;D

To others who already did their medicals: just to clarify....the slip that the DMP is supposed to give us at the end of the medical check up session, is copy 2 of the medical report, section A right? And that's it? How does it look like? Is it one piece of paper? A4 size perhaps?

And we're supposed to send it together with the whole application to CPC-Mississauga right? (we're doing it outland through Singapore)

It is the carbon copy of the first form that the DMP keeps and sends to your VO with the medical results. it's smaller than an A4 paper, it's greenish, and the DMP will normally attach a picture of the applicant on it. You send it to MIssissauga with the rest of your application, so CIC can see that you have done the medicals. Once the sponsorship is approved, your file will go to your VO and they will match the results with your file.
Good luck,
Sweden
