wife studies in canada and I commute to US for work ?

hello, wanted to understand if wife can study in canada on student visa and I can commute to work in US(on H1) and stay in Canada with her on dependent work permit ? Or is there any other way/visa/provision to accomplish this ?

Like coming and going? If so then yes.
 
I had a friend who worked in MI, USA and his wife went to school in Canada. There are other people who do that.
 
i called immigration and they said yes technically it can be done on a visitor visa. although your reentry to canada everytime is at the discretion of port of entry officer.

and that is the challenge if commuting daily or weekly given your status in Canada is temporary and there is always the chance you come across the one CBSA officer who may have issues.

The principle behind the spouse accompanying a student tends to be the assumption the spouse will reside and work in Canada outside of that flexibility can be questionable and not guaranteed as a right.
