After receiving med req should we do medical and inform the vo office about pregnancy or just write to the vo about pregnancy and request time extension until baby birth?

I am also in a similar situation. I got my medical request in July 2010 however since my wife is pregnant our doctor advised us not to get the X-Ray done. I wrote to CHC and told them that my wife cannot get her medicals done now. They asked for a medical report of my wife mentioning the expected date of delivery. I sent that report to them and got a reposnse after a few days. They have now given me an extension till Feb 2011.

They will send new medical request for all of us after 28th Feb 2011 now.

Sol in your case I think the best option is to give you an extension till the baby is born.

Decision Made

Hi everyone
need some advice
My status says decision made! and the Decision is that they rejected my case due to my education degrees.
They couldnt find that they were accredited even though all the degrees are accredited by "CHEA".They gave me 60 days to submitt the proof and i did.
I have send them the letter directly from "CHEA" clearly saying that the Universities are Accredited. WHat do you guys think will they accept the proof and change there decision and howlong will they take to get back to me with a decision as its already been 2 months.

Thanks

Thanks simsinghgill,
Our doctor also calculated the possible birth in February 2011. Quite the same as yours. So, we shall wait till that time!
You mentioned the vo asked to submit a report from doctor about time of baby birth. So, did you submitted it from a DMP or any other doctor?

Sincerely
Soarer

my wife is also pregnant,my case will be delay,

we were in the same situation. When we received our medicals my wife was pregnant. We inquired about Xray with various doctors and almost all gynaecologists advised not go for that. We went for medical and DMP told that they can take Xrays. But we opted to have it after the confinement. The DMP informed VO about the pregnancy. I sent a letter requesting to hold our application until confinement. The CIC issued remedicals instructing us to submit it after giving birth. We submitted Xrays during the first week of Jan 13 and two weeks back updated the child details and we are waiting for MR for our new born. Meanwhile our ecas status was updated with 'medicals have been received'. Most of the DMPs will let you take Xrays if the pregnancy have passed the first trimester, in that case it is ok to have Xray as per DMP. But if you are in the last trimester, and submitting the xray does not assure you that the Visa will come in time so that you can give birth in Canada. If you can't land three months before the confinement date you have to pay the hospital expenses (only Alberta and Manitoba are giving insurance coverage to the new immigrants from the date of landing, others have a 90 days wait period).

Again there is one more concern that if you are full filling the medical and you are receiving the Visa during the the confinement month adding your newborn is a different process and it may take more time than the No xray option. Also as your family configuration changed after issuing the visa and COPR you have to get it renewed from the VO.

Edwin Joshy,

Thank you for answering :) my friend told me she knows someone who's same situation as mine. Her friend undergo w/ medicals except for xray and the application goes on. She said this month they're leaving for canada & give birth there. Hoping same thing will happen in my case.
