Hello My wife is pregnant and my wife mother wants to come to visit her. Can anybody please guide me. What does she need and how to apply please help anyone. Her kids will be staying back. Only mother wants to visit and she is in Pakistan. Please help

Two options:

1. Either apply for 6 months visitor visa

or

2. Apply for parent/grandparent supervisa (this is longer duation she can stay up to two years)

Hi,

Your mom-in-law can apply for a TRV.... by stating a visit of 2-3 weeks max + demonstrating she has strong ties to Pakistan (family/financial/property or land ownership, previous travel, etc).

Do not mention that she is visiting to take care of your wife/your baby as this could result in a refusal.

Do go through this forum.... you'll find several cases similar to yours and then post your specific questions

Cheers

But doesn't she need an invitation letter from my wife? Why she wants to visit. Why can't we put she wants to see the baby? She does have ties to Pakistan she has a job and her kids and spouse there.

Yes, your wife can provide an invitation letter along with other documents.

You'll be risking it if it appears that your mom-in-law is visiting to take care of your wife/baby. It is illegal to work while visiting on a TRV. Hence, TRVs are refused in such cases.

IMO, your mom-in-law must keep her purpose of visit to visiting you and your wife + tourist places etc + she must prove she has strong reasons to return to Pakistan after her visit

Cheers

You can say she will visit her family and see the baby of course that's all fine. Just don't say she's also here to take care of the baby for you guys, because that's considered illegal work.

yes same thing happend with us,twice refused trv with same reason on baby delivery and take care of my daughter and baby. You can say she will visit her family and see the baby and visit such a nice places in canada for 2,3 weeks.
