Hello everyone, here is my situation.

I am a qualified worker in Quebec. I will get married next september outside canada (Morocco). After our honeymoon my wife will be directly coming here with me as a visitor. She already has a 3 years visitor visa (multiple entry). Heard stories about how border agents harrass people and ask all sorts of questions...and may even deny people entry if not "convinced" that the person will leave Canada by the end of their visit. I intend to write an invitation letter recognizing that i will take her in charge during her stay (6 to 8 weeks), after which she will go back to our home country (cause the idea is for her to visit the city and all before deciding to go with an immigration program, but that much i wont say to the officer). Both of us will also have sufficient proof of revenue to fund her stay, so no financial pressure, and do understand that she can't work nor overstay longer than the period that will be stamped on her passport by the officer.

Anything i should keep in mind ?

thank you

Who do plan to give this invitation letter to given the CBSA officer who will make an assessment based more on how convincing you are in front of
them ? An invitation letter would usually be used when applying for a visa but your wife to be already has a multiple entry visa.

No idea about marriage in Morocco whether that involves your wife taking your name if so will the airline ticket be in her single name as per her passport/visa or married name with a new passport ?

A return ticket obviously and as you imply answer all questions asked by CBSA honestly but do not volunteer extra information which is why personally I would not volunteer any invitation letter on entry.

As for harrassment CBSA have a job to do and those that report harrassment are often, not always, people who give CBSA cause for concern with a bad attitude or are evasive in answering simple questions such as purpose of visit, length of stay.

Thanks for the quick answer. I thought i would provide the invitation letter to prove that she has a place to stay. As for the return ticket yes obviously we ll make a refundable reservation as we re not sure if she ll go back after 6 or 8 weeks. Finally for the name, she will keep her’s, but we will have an authentic document proving our marriage. From ur perspective, Would that do it ? :) thanks again
