Dear Guys,

I hope all of you're doing good.
We are Indian nationals and recently secured a provincial PR for PEI .My wife is Pregnant at moment.
We want to move to Canada but no sure to move it at this stage reason being, we don't know anyone over there who would be willing to take care of my wife during this period.
People advise us of moving ASAP as the child will get Canadian citizenship by default. As easy it may sound, it is difficult for us. We are also not sure whether we can do this alone by ourselves in PEI . Also, PEI allows residents to have their health card after residing 6 months in state. If she delivers a baby before that which is likely to be case, will we get any benefits from government or not?
Also, can we deliver the baby in Ontario as I have one cousin living over there who can help us.
I am not sure whether my wife will be receiving health benefits by the time we get our health cards. Can anyone provide pointers on the same.
Any people with same experiences who can shed some light?

Thanks.

Also, we were wondering, if we inform CIC about her pregnancy now will they include child's PR after birth.

Dear

There is no provincial pr. Did u mean that you were nominated by the province?

It's highly unlikely that your wife will get the medical immidiately when you land. Medical cards take time.

Usual process during pregnancy is that, once the child is born, you apply for a passort for the child and intimate your province which gave you the nomination and also cic. They will then process the pr for the child too. But if the child is born in Canada, the process is much simpler and straightforward.

I recommend that if you do not have anyone in pei or have a job, bear the child in india and apply for pr.(unless you are super rich :) There is nothing like hometown love. Later, when u get the citizenship in next few years, the whole family can get it done together.
