Wife is Canadian citizen by descent. How hard will it be to naturalize children born abroad?

Wife was born in the USA and thus can't pass on her citizenship to children born outside Canada after April 17, 2009. Neither of her parents were Crown servants at the time of her birth. Same goes for her grandparents at the time of her parents' births.

Say we had kids in the USA, then moved to Canada later, while the children are still minors. Can the kids be naturalized faster or more easily given that she's already a Canadian citizen?

Everything on Google is about naturalizing children at the same time as non-citizen parents. Non-citizen children of Canadians who are citizens by descent seems to be a rare case.

Thank you in advance! :)

No difference . She would have to sponsor them for PR first, then go through the same process as PRs do for citizenship

Presumably, you will need to be sponsored for PR, so the kids would be included in your app as dependents. As soon as they become PRs, she can apply for their citizenship, which would take about 6 months to a year.

As canuck_in_uk wrote, there is a difference, which is that the PR children of a Canadian citizen don't have wait three years to apply for citizenship.
