Hello All,
I am currently on workpermit and my wife ison visitors visa in canada. I just received invitation for express entry PR even before i could file dependent visa for my wife. Can i still apply for her dependent visa while my application is still under process forPR?
What would be my best option to let her stay with me here.?
Thanks in advance.

PR and TRVs are different process and quite unrelated.

Your best chance for keeping her living with you is to "extend her stay as a visitor".

Thanks a lot.
So basically she can add herself in my application while continuing to stay in canada as visitor?
Is there anyway she can stay with me beyond 6 months as visitor?
Thanks in advance.

No. These are separate process.

That is up to CIC, they will grant as much time as they see fit.

You can request as much time as you need.

how she can stay beyond 6 months as visitor:
before her status expires she has to submit an application to extend her stay in canada. it doesnt matter if the extension is just for spending more time with you or for a reason that she is awaiting PR as your dependent SHE has to do this to keep his stay legal. extensions are rarely denied in case of spouses who are included/added in a PR application. this allows a spouse to live in canada throughout the process of a PR application. she must live with a legal status throughout the processing of the PR application ( so you have to make the extension application after every 6 months) generaly the second time the extension may be granted for more than 6 months. For the extension you have to provide the proof of funds etc. Remember the extension application must be submitted before the expiry of her status.

Adding/including her in your application:
if you are looking forward to submit an application for PR then in any case you have to mention your wife in your application forms and she has to undergo medicals and security screening. so just by clicking/choosing the option of Accompanying dependent in the form her PR status will also be processed (i.e she will get PR status at the same time of yours).

if you choose not to add her as Accompanying dependent, she will still have to undergo the medicals and security screening and she wont be given a PR status on approval of your application. in this case you have to sponsor her later once you become a PR, by meeting the sponsorship requirement and go through long processing timelines.

So adding her as Accompanying dependent is the best option and will save a lot of time and no hassle to sponsor her and to meet sponsorship requirements.

Hope this helps..:)
