Why was I issued a refund?

So I submitted my wife's application less than a month ago, and I just received an email stating that a fee of $85 was refunded to me, however they didn't state why. I hope to God it wasn't sent back...

Any insight would be appreciated.

You probably paid the biometrics fee, which inland applicants are exempt from.

Then perhaps you paid it twice. How much did you pay?

You probably paid biometric family fee but needed to pay for single fee.

I paid 1360. The application includes one child.

If the child is under 14 years old they do not require biometrics

Its a biometrics refund if you paid extra or for a dependent who dont require a test.

What is the child is 13 years old by the date of the application, but she turned 14 during the application process? Will she still be required to provide the biometrics later?
