Why do we need this new section. There is nothing new for an American citizen. Its same for them as it is for any other person. They can refer the Express Entry section for any information. It would be just redundant information here.

Until now, they were mixed among every other nation. This special section can either make them feel elitists (they deserve something better because they are something more), or make us feel smarter (they need special help as they are not less smart than anymody else to use standard sections). In any case it is not good to let them excluded from everybody else doing chat here.

I think NAFTA and other trade agreements and work agreements (e.g. SWAP) are specific to Americans (and Mexicans) and so it's not the same.

That applies to temporary visas only.

This section is for Permanent Residency. PR is the same for everyone (same process). That's why the question is being raised as to why a separate section is required for Americans.

And no - I'm not criticizing (my own husband is an American who became a Canadian PR and then a citizen). Just explaining why the question is being asked. It's a good question. From my perspective a separate PR section for Americans is completely unnecessary.

Yes that is why I asked this question.

NAFTA is completely different than PR. We already have a section for PR/Express Entry. It is good for all of us to keep everything at one place as we have lot of discussion going on there.

I think because the mods thought that there will be a lot of people in America wanting to move to Canada because of Trump getting elected, and wanted to bring all the traffic to here instead of clogging up other sub-forums.

Talk is cheap. 99% of all the people who said they would move to Canada if George Bush got re-elected never moved. Same goes for Trump.
