Hi guys,

I'm new to here so I'm a bit lost, so my question is :

when I finish working one year of full-time job (skilled job) , then I want to apply for Permanent Residency , do I have to apply PNP then P.R , or the PNP is the P.R itself ?

How longer is the process for PNP, and P.R . Like how longer it will take in the total to get a permanent residency starting from the day I apply for Ontario PNP ?

Thanks a lot in advance <3

The answer to your questions is all in the CIC website.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/index.asp

Sometime you just have to research on your own and then when there are stuff you don't understand that is the time you ask it in the forum.

In my understanding when you apply for PNP they will process it and make sure that you are ELIGIBLE and then they will process your PR.
(there are different forms and requirements that you have to meet that are all in the website)

In my opinion there are other streams you can apply to like the Canadian Experience Class, you need 12 months full time work needed. Etc.
I will post the link to the website for that too.
An advantage to CEC is that you don't have to stay in a specific province for a certain time after you get your PR unlike PNP.
CEC currently takes 13 months average from beginning to PR.

Goodluck!

Well, its nt bad to help others, may be we can assume that the person has tried researching but cudnt understand..

Two ways you can become PR:

1) Canadian Experience class - After one yr experience in skilled job, you apply for federal for PR directly, take arnd 13 months
2) Provincial Nominee Program - After one yr experience in skilled job, you apply to province, get nominated in 3 months (Depends on province), apply for PR, usually get in 7-8 months if inside Canada.

Hope this helps.

Hi Arif,
LOL. Yes I know that is why I still gave him/ her an answer. And I like helping people and didn't mean to be mean but sometimes some people comes here and ask what is the requirements for this and that. or what is the processing time for this or that. Which are obviously all can be found in the CIC website which is probably more accurate and complete than anyone answering it on this forum including me. Just saying is inform yourself first from accurate source like (CIC website) and then when you don't understand something, that's the time to ask. Again, sorry didn't mean to come out as being mean. :) Thank you!

hi guys :) thank you for your answers. Here I found new infos that might interest you :

- You do NOT need work experience to apply for Ontario PNP as international graduate student ! so you just need a Job offer letter of permanent full time of a skilled job NOC 0,a,b . (permanent means no end date is included, maybe it's hard to get that offer) , however it still better than CEC that asks you to proove 1 year continuous full time job under the same job.

- @Marsiangal : you said under CEC I don't have to stay in the province after getting my P.R . That's true . but let me tell you that under PNP you MUST sign a form to stay permanently in the province that gives you P.R (or at least two years after p.r) like Saskatchewan. --
But me I'm in Ontario so I really want to stay here it's the best.

I will get a job offer letter and apply for OPNP, then I'll stop the job and get a part time job, possible ?

If you like Ontario and want to stay there for a long period of time or permanently than that is great! :) It is your choice after all. And we didn't know you were a student so that makes a lot of difference. Just saying maybe one day you would want to explore other provinces to work or live. There are other places that are great too you know! But if you can get PR faster with student OPNP go for it. :)

yes it's true,,, but Ontario is the best for me "to live".
and I really didn't know that only Ontario PNP doesn't ask for work experience proof ! even Saskatchewan which is easy for immigration requires work experience for International students. That's weird !

Do you think CIC will make sure I complete the work for one year if I get an offer letter , or I can cancel the the offer few months after applying for PNP ?

You have to apply PNP adn after PR application. Effective July 1, 2012, most Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) applicants to semi- or low-skilled professions will need language testing. This test will show whether your language proficiency meets a minimum standard in each of these four categories: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
This does not apply if you are a temporary foreign worker in a NOC C & D occupation, and who:
• entered Canada on or before July 1, 2012, and
• Has been nominated in a PNP employer-driven stream by July 1, 2013.
After you have been nominated by a province or territory, you must make a separate application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residence. A CIC officer will then assess your application based on Canadian immigration regulations.
You will have to pass a medical exam and obtain a police certificate. it is better advise please consult immigration consultant.
