Why multiple police certificates required?

Hi,

I have lived in the UK ONLY for over 15 years. I have received ITA for Canada and they have asked for "Police Certificates (Multiple) (required)". I have lived in two cities in the UK but I understand that you only get one police certificate for the whole of UK, so I don't understand why the ITA says 'multiple' certificates.

I also visit Pakistan 2 to 3 times per year but only for family visits (so I stay less than 1 month every time). Could 'multiple' relate to my visits to Pakistan?

'Multiple' is shown for everyone even if someone has stayed in one country for their entire life. Make sure that your total stay in Pakistan is not exceeding 6 months or more since the age of 18 years,if yes then Pakistan PCC may be required.

Great - this is very helpful. So I would need PCC from Pakistan as I go every year for at least 1 month?
I guess this applies to all countries even if you traveled for work, like I think my total travel to Europe (for holidays or work) must be over 6 months since the age of 18. Would I need PCC for Europe too? That would be a pain!

In my case i have stayed in India my entire life but stayed in multiple cities(changed address in the same city multiple times recently and in past as well) but never travelled overseas. Do I also need PCC from all the cities and addresses?

Thanks. In the application, they only ask about travel in the last 10 years. How would they know where lived 12 years ago? Do you need to scan every page of every passport since the age of 18 years? Just a question.

Yes, police certificates are also required for the dependent.

Hi Experts

Need your advise on the matter of Police Certificate. Following is my travel history in Pakistan and Dubai:

Birth to Sep 2010 : Lahore, Pakistan
Sep 2010 to June 2014: Islamabad, Pakistan (Went for my Bachelors for 4 years with frequent visits to home in Lahore)
June 2014 to Dec 2014: Lahore (Stayed at home for 7 month looking for Job)
Dec 2014 to March 2015: Islamabad (Found job in Islamabad and moved)
March 2015 to April 2015: Lahore
April 2015 to August 2016: Dubai, UAE (Moved to Dubai for work and visited Lahore, Pakistan twice for two weeks each time in December 2015 and March 2015).

Please suggest me how my Pakistani PCC certificates should be as they mention dates and addresses.
Should there be multiple police certificates covering both cities Lahore and Islamabad, or just one?
I am confused as I have been moving around the two cities.
Also please suggest if I need a police certificate for my two week visits to Lahore after moving to Dubai?
