Why is nobody going to UNBC for masters programs? I am having hard time finding information about this university in any forums.

Why is is nobody going to this university for masters? I would be request UNBC alumni or prospective student thinking of applying to UNBC to reply here and share some information.

I am from India and wanna do masters in computer science.

Thanks

i would suggest to contact the international office at UNBC and ask if they have indian student association or something like that

What I know about UNBC is located northern BC at cold college town, so not so many international students up there !

According to me, some of the common reasons are :-

1) Harder to get into, low acceptance rate
2) Expensive
3) The place, Vancouver is expensive

International students generally target an affordable education and maybe later for a good PNP scheme, common provinces being Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan

1. UNBC is NOT in Vancouver, it is in Prince George, 500 miles North of Vancouver.

You are confusing UNBC with UBC.

oops.. my bad, UNBC is a different university, I assumed it for UBC, I don't know much about UNBC ::) But it seems to be a low tier university as per comparison with UBC, which is one of the best in Canada.

I know they are no.1 UNDERGRADUATE university. But rather ignored university as far as masters is concerned. Their facebook page also dose not give much clue about international masters students especially from Asia.

The question I have is should I apply for this university , since I already have 3 admits from mid ranked US universities.

At this stage, I am thinking of it as its tuition fees are low and canada offers 3 year pgwp, plus my acads are not good though I have good gre and toefl score.

If anyone else has any more info, pls comment here. if anyone else is also applied/ planning to apply to UNBC, please reply here, so that we can share info.
