Skanda/Bethany,
I apologize if my posts seemed rude or negative against you. That was never my intention.
MilesAway said what I was trying to say, but much clearer and explanatory. We are all in the same process, and a positive outlook for the way things work makes the tortuous wait to be reunited more bearable. I love Canada, and I love the fact that we allow people that were not born in Canada to bring their family here. I wouldn't have been born in Canada if not for this fact. The trade off to our open system is that more people are in process, which slows the system down. We could speed up the process by capping the number of applications per year, but really that just makes people wait outside the actual queue.
There is a limit to the number of people Canada can absorb per year, and we are consistently in the Top 3 countries in the world for permanent immigration. If you can think of a concrete solution to make things better, I'll start the written petition myself.
