I am a July 2013 applicant and waiting for PPR. My ecas said DM on Nov 13 2014.

No I dont think you need to redo yours.

I think as long as you/PP sent the medical within a year after your initial test. (before it actually expires), you should be fine..
Unless they want you to take an additional test/etc.

Are you sure about this. I know some people who have landed after 1 yr of their medicals.
