Hi, i'm trying to get a visitor visa for my girlfriend from vietnam. One of the ways we are trying to show her strong ties is by showing her university transcript, next years classes and registration, and also a letter of support from her professor.

I'm trying to help her professor with an outline of the letter but I'm not sure who to address the letter to besides "CIC officer", I can't find any mention of an address on cic's website.

Also, I am applying on her behalf online, so I'm not sure addressing it to the canadian embassy in vietnam is correct. Any help?

Also, I'm confused as to the next step of the process after I apply. The instructions only say to submit all documents and pay the fee, go collect biometrics, and wait for instructions. Will she have to be interviewed at an office in Vietnam? Or the visa be issued and then she has to interview with the Canadian border guards once she lands? We are trying to plan this since she has to travel 4 hours to the capital just to take biometrics.

and also, one last question. Is it a good idea to book her a return flight BEFORE I apply for the visa? Will it increase my odds or not help at all? I can show a detailed itinerary of her travel, but to book ahead of the visa I will need to buy a much more expensive refundable flight.

does anyone know the answer?

Its unimportant...

"Sir or madam"
"Canada Immigration & Citizenship"
"To whom it may concern"

Anything really...

It helps for sure.
