Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
It is a gamble at times. Some are lucky when they first come to Canada and get a good job from the start. For others, they take much valued time trying to find the right job. One Chinese guy I know came to Vancouver with enough money to last a few years. He bought a modest house and rented out a couple of rooms. He then worked at night deliverying pizzas and s[ent his days searching out different businesses, and now has a comfortable income from his investments. Another guy I know from Hong Kong moved to Edmonton when he was young (20) and worked at a restaurant as a dishwasher. He now owns a restaurant.

I wouldn't say that getting any job would help you out, but jobs that will help you to get to know the area and the people. Get involved in the community a much as possible. Sign your kids up for soccer, baseball or hockey. Here you can meet other parents, and despite what many might think, Canadians do like to help people out.

There was a report a year or so ago that said immigrants are happier in smaller cities. Look how well some Chinese people and Greeks have done in smaller towns. They had service based businesses that helped them to network.

Best of luck to you all, and remember that you will have to face new challenges on your arrival. Keep your goals in mind and put one foot in front of the other and you can do well.
