I wonder if what they mean by "electronic" is the electronic submission of the prints versus being mailed to them because they certainly accepted my husbands prints no problem.

This is also my theory.

That would really make sense as the electronic creation of prints (digital prints) really is different from the electronic submission of prints. With SO many places saying that they dont do ink prints it just doesnt make sense that the FBI, of all places, would not accept digital prints.

i would wait to get the state clearance after you receive the FBI one in the mail, the state one for New Jersey at least came with in a week. i am not sure if i even needed to do the state one

As of now we don't need one from the State unless they ask for it. Some of us (like me) did it just in case they ask for it.

The FBI received my husband's prints on May 17th (we sent it by courier). No word as of yet and we cannot check our money order status sadly to see if it was cashed (got it through USPS). I am biting my fingernails waiting for it to come back. We also sent a prepaid courier elvelope for the return, if they use it, great, if not, oh well.

We sent two sets of prints from his local police station. I really hope they come back fine.

We are doing state clearances for NY, WI, IL, and FL. He currently lives in NY state so we did prints for that one, but the other states we are just doing a name check, just in case they wanted something, they got it. We do not want any chance of them coming and asking for more info and delaying our application being processed.

The fastest I've seen in past six months that anyone on these forums has gotten there FBI clearance has been six weeks. Seems the going rate is about two months.

When I sent my fingerprints to the FBI in Dec 2009 I was shocked when I read this:
Allow approximately 13 weeks for processing, upon receipt to the FBI.
http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cjisd/fprequest.htm

Even more shocking was after over 13 weeks mine came back with a note that said they could not read the prints because the quality was "too low". This alone set my PR application back six months. :(
If by chance it comes back unreadable again, I see no choice but to return to the States without my new Canadian wife, where I have legal status to work....

OMG I just called (well I had been calling like 5 times a day lol) to see the money order status and IT HAS BEEN CASHED!

7 weeks since FBI received. I hope that the fingerprint was good enough! :o

I know its silly but I am so excited! I will be checking the mailbox everyday for the letter.

Awesome, can't wait to hear how long it takes for them to get it to you.
I sent mine 4 weeks ago, hopefully this means they are moving quicker all around.

Mine was sent June 10th... I can't believe I still have a possible 13 weeks to wait for this thing.

I contacted Buffalo yesterday about filing without, with a note indicating it would follow when RCV'd by me..... This is what I got back;

Hmm... Interesting. What about contacting Immigration Canada as opposed to a processing center? Or even Mississauga?

I just peeked in the guide- as I was curious what it said and it says:

If any of the documents required in the checklist at Appendix A are not sent with your forms, the application will be returned to your sponsor, who will have to obtain the missing documents and re-send the complete application with all proper documentation.
