I have an amazing girlfriend that I met in Europe last summer and I want to go to BC to live with her and work.
She is 28, a canadian citizen and school teacher and is also doing her masters in education with a year left to go.
I am 30, a New Zealand citizen, trade qaulified carpenter with 12 years experience, and would say I have a wide and very good skill set.
She can't sponsor because we don't qaulify for common law partnership as we haven't lived together yet.
Can't sponsor under conjugal relationship as we have no reason why we have been forced to live apart the last year.
I was going to apply for an international experience canada visa but the sole purpose of this visa is to travel and work and it does not give you the option to declare any sort of relationship and I am concerned that will cause me problems later on.
I want to apply for a skilled worker visa but am unsure how to get an arranged employment offer before I go or if I can get away with not having a job offer because I will be moving straight in with my girl friend and will have money in the bank to live off till I find suitable work.
I am also not apposed to changing my profession but if I go on a skilled worker visa does that stop me from working in other jobs apart from building.
Really need some direction of the correct path to take so I don't ruin my chances of extending visas or possibly trying to get permanent residence or similar in the future.
Help please!!
