Hi guys,

On the EE profile under work history there is a option " Were you a FT student while doing this job"

Does this option have to be checked for a job wherein I finished the requirements of the course and had started working? I was still holding student permit.

If I don't check this box the system gives me 35 points for 1 year exp whereas I don't have 1 year exp as of now.

Thanks,

Were you working legally? If not, the experience will not count. If you had an off campus work permit and applied for a post grad work permit (PGWP), then yes you can count this time. If that is the case (and only if that is the case), then yes, you can say "no" and receive these points (is my understanding). However, if you were illegally working on a student visa, you can't get the credit.

Thanks for the reply.

So as per the rule after June 2014 an off campus permit is not required and one can work off campus with the study permit, as long as he/she meets certain criteria, so working during that period is fine.

I had 2 back to back semesters and finished the requirements of the study program in Sept 2014 and started working soon after. I applied for my PGWP in Dec 2014.

I don't want to claim the points from Sept - Nov 2014 as I hadn't applied for a PGWP but was working off my study permit and hence am confused if I should CHECK the box "Studying full-time while doing this job?A person must be in class at least 15 hours per week during the academic year to be considered full-time"

Its hard to understand the above statement if one has to be attending class or the fact that he is working off study permit this automatically has to be checked.

Ah, I see! I graduated in 2013 and you still had to have OCWP then. Makes sense. I would say that once you received your completion letter and were no longer attending classes, you were no longer technically a student.
