I was wondering if anyone can help me in this delimma. I have worked multiple jobs in the past 10 years. All of them are in the pharmacy field. Worked as a teaching assistant in pharmacy school in Egypt for 3.5 years. Worked as a pharmacy technician for 1 year and 10 months. Worked as a pharmacist for 1.5 years then got promoted to pharmacy manager and worked for another 1 year and 5 months. I don't know which occupation should I pick as primary . Each one has a different NOC. I was hoping to pick pharmacist coz this is what I want to do when I go to Canada but I am scared because it was a short duration and CIC may ignore the fact that all of these occupations are related especially pharmacist and pharmacy manager. I am very confused and don't know what to do.

You need to have minimum 1+ year experience in your primary NOC. Beyond that NOC codes do not matter. So choose the ones where you can get reference letters as per CIC guidelines and also choose primary NOC where you have minimum of 1 year continuous full time paid work experience.

Thanks for replying @cansha . So If I am able to get reference letters for all of my Jobs. Iam wondering if picking my primary occupation as one with a shorter duration can hurt my CRS score versus using one with longer duration.

In the CRS score tool i tried it multiple times and it always give a higher score with longer employment duration. Do they calculate the duration based on the duration of my primary occupation only or is it based on duration of all the NOC occupation that I had in the past 10 years combined together?

As I said your primary NOC has to be atleast 1+ years so I'm not sure what you mean by shorter vs longer duration.

@cansha Iam sorry I am new to all of this. what I am trying to understand is if I use teaching assistant (3.5 yrs) as primary NOC instead of pharmacist (1.5 years) will it give me a higher CRS score? ..Both are 1+ year.

I don't think so. And if it is giving you different score choose the one with longer duration. It doesn't matter what you choose as primary NOC. As I said the only requirement is that it needs to be atleast one year.
