IDP is better in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Bangalore.

Sharing my experience at IDP IELTS exam held on 6th Sept. 2014

1. Result was delayed twice & got declared on 10th Oct. 2014. Reason given was random quality assessment.
2. Score: R-9, L-8.5, S-6.5, W-6.0. Believe me, I deserved min. 7.0 in writing. Nevertheless, may be they are more stringent in cases of re-assessment or it varies depending on the individual checker cos it is a subjective call.

Outlook:
Re-assessment can be one major issue, services were fine, got good pair of headsets in listening, but the biggest advantage is that IDP allows you to issue duplicate copy of result whereas British council does not.
IDP test centres was allotted within the same district of my residence. I can tell you becos my neighbourhood friend applied via Britishcouncil and got test centre in diff. district of the state.

Can not comment on marking as to which is more stringent. Although my writing band raises some doubts on IDP but my frnd who chose Britishcouncil also scored less than what he expected.

Forgot to mention my centre was in Delhi.
The speaking interviewer (Indian lady) was nice but I got nervous, resulting in low band.
I will be applying again on 20 dec. via IDP again.

I think headfones are provided by both IDP & BC

I sat the IELTS from IDP on 19th Mar from New Delhi...My experience was not bad at all...My centre was not too far off and the arrangements were good enough....instructions - clear and crisp...headfones were really good and the ambience strict to avoid distraction, etc. Nonetheless I have applied for re-marking as my scores are really low....lets hope for the best and waiting for god's grace to make my dreams come true....

Guys,

When is normally speaking tests get scheduled w.r.t to Main Exam? I am going to sit in Main on July 30, so what date I can expect speaking exam to be?

I gave my exam on 16th July with IDP
and on 29th July I received my score: 7.0 (L:7.5, R:8.5, S:6.0, W:6.0)
It's all depend upon your preparation and perseverance.
Being from Gujarati medium, was able to receive that score.
You will get what you deserve.
Btw for all those who are giving bed reviews about IDP, I think they just need excuses for their poor bands.

I dont know which one's better. I took exam four times . 2-BC, 2-IDP.

there is not any difference . BC has better service as compared to IDP , Other than that it depends on individual capibility how much they can score
