if we talk about racism, it is every where in the world..............the person who were attacked mostly at night time....i never heard that any working person has been attacked ....only students were attacked.

anyway i just want to know if min. wages in aus. is 28$ so, what about tax?

Samkor the minimum wage could be about $15/hour in normal hours working as a cleaner.

The minimum wages could be as low as $8-10 even in Restaurant kitchen hand/wait staff in Australia so there is indeed a variable rate according to job type, interstate and period of employment as well... so pl consider everything when to take into account...

It even differs in same job profile... If you work as Customer Service Officer in Coles Express as part/full time employee - $15/hr...as casual employee - $18 or $19/hr...and so on... Vis-a-vis, if you work for same job profile in Caltex - Woolworths, rate differs.

Same is applicable for kitchen hand, wait staff, cleaners, checkout cashiers, night fillers, etc... in different field, location and organization..

Everybody like to think high but it is reality that many highly qualified people are living on this type of survival job... With my exp of staying in Australia I know many qualified engineer to have to work picking and packaging fruits... Doctors had to changed track to non-professional jobs... Post doctorate holders doing work at post office... I am sure most of them never thought to have to do these before immigrating.... However they are still surviving and well settled by the time of stay... So don't think that you will have class 1 job ready here or in canada either!!

Yes I agree you must have inner will force to strive for better job but at the same time you must also be prepared to take challenges to climb on there.... the road map towards might not be easy picking as one might have dream of!!

Nice thread to read, learn and share our thoughts. I thought I can also share some lines....

My brother is an Aus citizen and he settled in Sydney 5 years before. He bought a descent house there and I believe he is well settled there...

Australia (As per my brother views)

1. He as well his family never faced any racist behavior from anyone for the last 5 years!!
2. There is no traffic jams on roads and you will not be forced to spent more time on roads due to this.
3. Climate is hot during summer... but manageable.
4. Wages per hour is comparatively higher compared to other developed countries.
5. Govt. supports all residents and citizens by giving various benefits...
6. Acceptance of International qualifications
7. Very few major cities, then medium towns and villages....... balance forest

Canada (As per my research)


1. Climate is extreme - even below zero in Southern Canada as well.
2. Employment opportunities high compared to Aus
3. Country having huge potential due to proximity to US
4. Good water/air etc etc
5. International qualifications not accepted everywhere in Canada

Both the countries have its own merits and demerits. Those who like settled life in village like cities without much population, cannot survive in zero temperature etc etc Australia is better. Those who needs city life, western culture, american lifestyle etc etc Canada is better.....

singh , I think you dont see complete Australia , I went for 2months , I met lots of indians and even new immigrants, what the PR rules, and australian employer gives you job when you landed first time on first day, noway , the PR rules for Australia is you have to work for 1year as labour like waiter etc jobs, then you can go for find skills level jobs, this is my personal experience during my visit of 2months, I met thoese peopel they are good qualified and they are still strugling since 3years , lots of Aussi employer ignore them because they are indians , singh saab read news papers and update yourself bro...

OMM, there is racism everywhere. At one stage north indians were being beaten in Mumbai. At one stage, people from Punjab wanted to separate from Mother India due to some narrow minded thinking. We can go on and on like that.

Australia has some racism as does Canada. Many people who immigrated to Canada are under-employed as well but this is not necessarily due to racism. I know lots of people in Australia who have great jobs. As for people being beaten up, surely if they wanted to beat up based on racism, it is best to beat up doctors and rich folks.

Don't say they are not getting jobs in Australia because based purely on race. The people you met will always think they did not get job because of race because that is the easiest excuse. I know lots of people who have great jobs in Australia. This is not a canada vs. australia argument. I am purely saying that you should stop having a small mind about australia.

My favorite thing about Australia over Canada is that Australians won't take any of that crap from Khalistanis whereas there are many Khalistanis in Canada. Why doesn't Canada stop these ideologically racist idiots. So many in BC were espousing Khalistan. This sort of thing will never happen in Australia. For this, I am grateful to Australia.

as from this thread i conclude
for Australia
there is value of int. degree.
climate is hot
life style is not up to western culture exclude Sydney and Melbourne.
wages are high compared to Canada
i don't know what is home rent and monthly expense.
immi. process takes longer time may be 3 yrs.,, i am not sure

omm sahab you are telling me to update my knowledge i think you should need to update your knowledge you have any ideas how many people got PR in aus. in last 5 years you cant imagine my friend for many years they had processing time for PR application was 12 months usually came in 4-6 months how much people come to aus. on doggy experience and other hand canada they just fast track there processing system now canada is best yeah ? before it used to be 48 months but never came in 48 month many people probably already died in waiting what about those people who are still waiting from 5 years still did not get any response what will you say here . let me tell you one more thing my friend people who were coming on student visa to australia majority of them in hair dressing and cookery because these are the easy course and cheap than other as well as they could drive taxi, security anything they want while they are studying because they came here just to get PR not the qualification they just want to have certificate to get the points in PR system, dont want to do the same jobs just wanna run the taxi and security what will you do in that case if you have already given too many PR in that particular courses they still have 1,47,000 PR application in their pipe line out of this again more than 60000 chefs and hair dresser but limit was to give 120000 maximum upto date 27000 already plus my friend and what will employers do because students dont know anything they never been to college did not learn anything who will give them job will you ? so they have to do kitchen hand worse part 90% of them dont try even a single time to search the job in their same field of study, you still except they should not amend their immi rules. that was the half story if i will tell you about people who came on spouse visa here leave it man i dont wanna tell anything here otherwise people like you will say i am a racist and sooner or later it will also happen with canada what will you say then canada is worse country than new zealand ( coming up destination of migration ) about racism please have a look my previous post which was in punjanbi if you cant understand punjabi then let me know i will send it to you by PM (compare canada and aus. wage system as well)
