My husband is tunisian but is living in italy as a resident.

We can either send the papers to Rome to be processed since he lives there, or we can send the papers to france to be processed because
france handles tunisian applications.

If he lives in italy and we send it to france, is this possible or should we send the application according to where he currently lives?

if we do send it to france, will they send him the medical checkup in france or in italy where he lives?

Hope someone can answer :)

Thanks

I think this depends on which country's passport he uses now.

Either one is fine, as long as he's lawfully admissible to that country for 1 year, according to the CIC rule. Just check which country has a short wait and go for that.

Hi,

you can choose to go through paris vo or rome vo, if he has lived in italy for more than a year, lawfully admissible i mean. paris has an average 8 months wait while rome has an 11 month wait.
he can do the medical anywhere, but if he does it in italy where he is living at the moment, then the doctor there is going to send the results to the rome embassy, and then that embassy will forward it to the ambassy you are going through. so my advice is go through paris because it has an average shorter waiting period, but then to save some time on the medical, do it in a country that is under paris, and france is the obvious option so that the doctor send it to paris straight away, thus reducing the waiting period, because if you do it in italy, first it will go to rome and then to paris.

Currently Paris is 8 months, Rome is 11 months (these are the amount of time to complete 80% of applications.)

If they call for an interview, you will need to travel to the visa office you have chosen. Otherwise, I'd pick Paris since the wait time is shorter.
