Hi everyone,

I work in investment banking field in Dubai, updating portfolios, clients accounts, trades...I would like to know which city in better for me to settle, Toronto, Vancouver, or else where? I also need to add I have my sister in Vancouver.

Appreciate your help/comments.

Thank you.
If you have relatives, please visit them for initial days till you find some kind of Job and local area knowledge. Toronto would be first choice but its expensive city.

I was considering Edmonton as my POE but after reading the furom, I will go to Toronto. For us, no relatives, professions to be certified (Nurse and spouse-a teacher)so we need survival jobs. thanks Captain and all of you guys for this thread.

If you can live with relatives for free you should go to Toronto. Otherwise, it's a lot easier to find jobs in AB.

Thanks Bro Leon, I will seriously think about it.

Hi Friends

I am new to this thread. Will appreciate some guidance please.

I've received the CSQ and am awaiting processing at NDVO. Hope will land
by next summer. I will be moving with wife and two sons. The elder son will
be looking for a job in the software field. My wife and I are from business background
and will be looking to start off as full/part time bookkeepers.

We have no knowledge of French but our English is quite good.

Please guide which place will be better, Montreal or Gatineau ( work in Ottawa ).
from job point of view and our zero knowledge of French at the outset.
We would have to live in Quebec as we nominated by that province.

Many Thanks in advance !! :) :)

Gatineau

There are English neighbourhoods in Montreal and you can get by with English for many jobs but I still think Gatineau would be better as you have the option to work in Ottawa.

Dear Seniors,

Please suggest me which place would be best for me in terms of accommodation, job and for my child's education. Would it be Toronto or Edmonton? Conflict is going within me. I am planning to land late by November. I've four yrs old son. I and my wife both are working in the field of education. Also, I am being very worried about winter/cold in Canada. Please post your experience, which will be a great help for me.

Thank you in advance.

Dear All,
I have received my pp back with visa stamped. We are couple with 4+ yrs kid.
I am confused between Whitby, Ontario greater Toronto or Edmonton, Alberta. I have relatives/friends in both the locations. I am an Electrical Engineer by profession and my 7+ yrs experience in maintenance area in Oil&Gas industry.
Please share your views...It will really helpful to me to take decision.

Start looking for jobs online to see which location seems to have more jobs for you. Ideally, try to stay with friends until you have a job either place and then decide where to settle.
