Hello Everyone,

I am posting this in "Finding Work" forum because I want to look at it from job perspective.

I am not in Canada yet, but soon will be (if I get PR). I already have a 4 years Engineering degree from another country (assessed by WES to be equivalent to 4 years Canadian bachelors degree). I also have 5+ years experience in Web/Software Development. If I want to add Canadian education to my resume, which is better: Degree or Diploma?

- Degree has more worth probably, but more expensive and time-consuming to obtain
- Diploma is cheaper and faster to obtain
- What is the general opinion on online degrees/diplomas from Canadian colleges/universities?

I am just planning ahead for worst, and expecting to have hard time finding job without Canadian education (after reading stories of many other people). So I am expecting that I will have to start working towards Canadian Degree/Diploma after landing.

All of your suggestions are welcome.

Many Thanks

Degree would be preferable. The only online school I'm aware of is Athabasca. Not sure which programs are offered online out of their curriculum - but I'm sure you can easily find this info on their web site.

Yes. I am currently checking with them as well as Western University.
