Which are the odds to get a TRV with my history-background?

I'm filling up the forms to request a TRV since I intend to travel to Canada on the 15th of December and leave on the 1st of January. My passport and citizenship is from a country in South America. I'm 37 years old. I have my permanent residence in Spain, over 15 years now.I work six months a year; specially for the high season, in Italy, in tourism. I've been divorced for the last 5 years. I live with my family in Spain; when I'm there and not traveling. I have a daughter that I pay child support and pay half of her expenses, and get to see pretty often even when I'm working abroad. I have a travel history. I have travelled quite a lot. I made good money but I got pay on commission based. I have about 19000 CAD$ in my bank account. I bought a travel insurance for the time I'm gonna be there. I have a credit card. My boss gave me a work reference letter where he states that he will re-hire me upon my return before the beginning of the high season. I was enrolled in the University in Spain but did not finished. Have the certificate from the University though. I have some good friends in Canada and one; which I've known for almost 2 years, is taking care of my visit there; i.e: bought my airplane ticket and is gonna take care of some of the expenses, I will stay at his place and do a little bit of traveling before returning. I have stayed longer than six months in Italy in 2007, to stay with friends and travel so I can get police records certificate. The ones in Spain I won't have the physical time to get them but if they will ask me I won't have a problem to get them later. I'm planning on bringing 2500 CAD$ cash for those 3 weeks + I will use the credit card when I need it.

Am I missing anything? Can I get a TRV with what I listed above? Any helpful answer is more than welcome!

Meow!

by the looks of it, it looks like you've got good chances visiting Canada. just make sure you gather as much proof such as a bank statement, a return flight and a letter of invitation from your friend you're staying at. you can look up all the things you need to know and how to apply on:

Hi Line.a,

Thanks for the answer. I really hope it will work out. I have the bank statement but, they did not dissect the movement of the month. They just gave me one with the total amount of money for that month. My friend already bought me the roundtrip ticket. He also sent me a letter of invitation notarized. He is sending me too his bank account statements, a sheet of paper with the values of his stocks, etc...

I'm meeting my "friend's" family also... Does it matter where this person live like a town, neighborhood; to get, let's say, more points when you go to request a Visa? Or the type of job they also have? He owns his own Corporation? Or is better to show less?

Are you the girl from Russia married to a guy from Alberta? I thought it was such a nice and beautiful story. What about how you dress? Meaning, going to drop your documents it is like a job interview eventhough the Canadian embassy does not requires a priori an interview, still I'm sure they take a look to how you present yourself. I was thinking about a suit but with a nice feminine top under. Just like the ones you were for a business meeting? Or maybe better a bit more informal? Tell me about your experience. I'm sure can be helpful even if all the cases have their own particularities.

Just another question. Does my boss really needs to write on the work reference letter how much money do I earn? I make money on commission! Let me know and thanks!

Haha no i'm from Denmark i am having a boyfriend in Alberta where we're trying to establish a life together too though. It's never easy with the immigration proccess but I think we're managing! :)

As to your situation..
It's a very good thing to have a roundtrip booked are you from a non excempt country and have to apply for the visa? Because i'm not too familiar with that.. I've only got experience arriving directly to Canada and then i get the visa. But good things to have is definitely your bank statement when you meet the IOs or applying for your visa. I doubt it's never too bad to have more proof than not so i guess you can mention that too.

I don't think there are any dresscodes for the Canadian embassy, i guess all they care about is your background history not how you dress so i wouldn't be too worried about that if i were you :)

the last question is one i can't really answer.. all i heard you need as proof is a letter of absence from your employer stating he wants to hire you once you return home from Canada.

my experiences when visiting Canada (which i've done so for 4 times and i'm going out again in 2 weeks) i've never had to proof anything they've just asked me directly in person. Only been asking to show a sheet of paper with the person i'm visiting's address and phonenumber and that's it.

you can get more information on immigration canada's webpage for people applying for TRVs

hope this helps!
