Hi,
I came to Canada in june 2011. When I applied my PR application (2009) I did not mention in my application that I was doing my bachelor's in Civil engg. Thru distance mode because i got my degree certificate in September 2011 three months after my landing. My PR application got approved on the basis of my diploma in civil engg. I was working full time during my degree study which I mentioned in my work history. On the basis of engg. Degree I did post graduate study in civil engg. In Canada. And now I want to apply for citizenship in July 2014. So is there any chance that citizenship department can question me regarding this?. Pls suggest whether it is case of misrepresentation or not ?

The education you declared in your PR application is correct as you did not finish your bachelor at the time when you applied. Acquiring degrees are ongoing process and whatever degrees are completed only those to be mentioned in the applications.

CIC will only care about your last 4 years work/education history. When you will apply your citizenship in July,14 you will declare your all education degrees starting from Jul,2010 til Jul,14. It appears you have continued your study after you became a PR and You may have worked for the certain period.. Distance or on campus study is not a issue as long as you have completed the program and diploma/certificated is awarded.

So, you need to mention all these and you may attach a letter with detailed of your work/education history as the application form space might not be enough for you to write everything. You also require to submit the education (diploma/transcripts) and work documents (employment letter/T4/NOA).

Thanks Rayman. But I did nothing after my PR (June 2011). I appeared in last semester exam in june 2010. But result was declared around January 2011 and final degree was signed by Vice Chancellor of university in august 2011( that time I was in Canada). I got the final certificate thru my friend in September 2011.
I would really appreciate if u can suggest me now what to do?

If you wait until Sep 2014, you might!!! (nobody knows) need to apply by the new law(being here 4 years of 6).
If you already meet 4 year, or will meet 4 years until Sep 2014, If I were you I will wait until September for sure.
Because by new law they have less people in process.
And if you apply now, and just for this question your file stuck, you have to wait long time.
until September you can prepare every thing without headache submit your file.

good luck

Your work/education history starts from July,2010 and your course ended in June,2010 (result in Jan,2011 is out of count). In that case under Q: 6.F: Education- check NO. Did you work from July,2011 after landing as PR? If so, check YES.

Bottom line is, your education is not relevant to the CIC application as it does not fall under the last 4 year period. However, you will need to provide language proof. You said you finished diploma when you applied for PR, did you take IELTS tests? if so, that will be OK. I am not sure if your online/distance degree will cover the language proof. If you have certificate and transcript of post graduate degree and hows instruction language was english will be acceptable by CIC otherwise you will need IELTS or CELPIP test results..

All right, you can declare your education and work both starting from July,2010 ending July,2014 and provide supporting documents as required by CIC under 6.F.

However, if you have education and work at the same time for specific period then just list the work details in the application and attach a letter explaining that while you have worked, attended in evening classes.

you better be very clear whether or not you need to submit results from the standard English testing. You should not have CIC return your application for proof of language etc etc.

Better to call CIC and check.
