Start by reading the first post in the thread at the top by Leon. That'll give you a broad outline of the process.

Spousal sponsorship doesn't require a minimum income, but you need to show how you plan to support yourselves and fulfill your obligation to ensure your spouse does not rely on social assistance. You will also need to show plans to re-settle in Canada, since you are living abroad.

04-11-2011 WOO HOO!!!
You will be able to sponsor your spouse, and you don't have to have a minimum income, however they will check to see if you two will be able to support yourselves while in Canada. You have to agree to be financially responsible for your husband during the undertaking which basically means, if he decides to go on welfare during the undertaking, you are responsible for paying it back. You cannot be in receipt of welfare as a sponsor either, unless it is under the disability class.

I'm not sure if your kids can sponsor him... but whether they can or not... parental sponsorships take an excessively long time, truly more than five years and from what I've read in other posts, they are just now STARTING to look at applications from September of 2007, whereas a spousal sponsorship is "likely" to be completed within a year through Buffalo. You do have to show that your intention is to settle in Canada though.

er yes.. what Charlie said... (posted while I was writing lol).

You can still sponsor him, or your kids can sponsor (maybe, check that out I'm not sure). But I would definitely go for the spousal sponsorship. Much, much faster. As someone else said, it takes a minimum of 5 years to immigrate parents and grandparents to Canada. Which is completely ridiculous. So go for the spousal sponsorship but just make sure you put a lot of proof in with your application.
