I'm trying to research immigration from the United States to Canada and the amount of information is overwhelming. I stumbled upon this forum and started reading the stickies but there's just so much information.
I guess my biggest problem is I do not have a college diploma and everything listed under Opportunity Ontario appears to need one. I went for 3 years and decided it wasn't for me.
I have 15 years of professional IT experience though and have been with the same company for the past 9 years. I'm currently a supervisor over a group responsible for all of the company's hardware including desktops, laptops, smart terminals, printers, etc. We maintain the image and maintain the hardware, perform break/fix, update software, decide on new products to send to the field, etc. I also work closely with the Windows Server Team and help maintain the Exchange and Citrix environment. I've managed dozens of successful projects and am quite confident in my abilities as a technician and supervisor and possibly IT project manager.
I may be able to get the company I work for to transfer me to a branch near Toronto to get some Canada work experience but it will only be temporary. I can't rely on that to happen and am hoping to find alternative options.
