Hi everybody,

I am having a trouble to find where to sent my complain about the refusal of my application for a tourist visa.
Some details: I have family there, brother with his wife and their son/I have not seen him yet,/, and mother who is married to a Canadian citizen.I am Bulgarian but I have lived in UK for 5 years.
So they refused me the visa and gave my 8 points that I do not cover. They are all crap, you cant say to somebody who has a university degree, have enough experience, it is a full time worker, plus that has a second job. That he is not with good employment status, or have limited employment prospects in the country of his residence, not earning enough money.
Just they all sound ridiculous, and I do want to leave it like that.
If I have to, I would go to submit that letter personally to the high commissioner in London.
Any suggestions?

Regards
Dimitar

Sadly, unless the visa officer made a legal mistake you cannot complain (and if there was a legal issue it would cost thousands $ and months of time in court proceedings). They send out a generic letter with boxes of reasons. Were they all checked? Your best bet is to reapply when you can address all the reasons for refusal. You may wish to apply for GCMS notes which give a better idea of the reasons for your refusal. This could help you put together a stronger application. Your Canadian family member can apply for it with your written permission. Cost $5.
The visa officer has to see your ties to home are stronger than your ties to Canada. Unfortunately, your family members being in Canada actually goes against you. It seems terribly unfair when they are the people you want to visit. Get a letter from your employer stating your work leave and expected return date. Include evidence of all your financial and property assets. Include in a cover letter your travel history, especially emphasizing travel for pleasure which shows you are financially established enough in your home country to afford this type of holiday. Work related travel can also show willingness to return home but it is pleasure travel that carries the most weight. Do a search on the forum in the top right hand white box for refusals. You will learn a lot from other's experiences. Good luck.
