I am not sure how to get notarization on some of the photo copies of certificates required like I-797/I20. I am residing in US.

Go to your bank (that will be free). Else,

UPS courier does that too and they charge around $5 per page.

Bank of America stoped doing notary for free, only bank related document they do.
UPS notaries are charging 10$ per page.

If there are large number of documents need to be notarized, Get the AAA premium membership for $100 which includes infinite number of notary at no extra cost + all services from AAA.

hope it helps.

go to any UPS owned by desi... they charge $5 for first & $2.5 for rest of doc... if you are AAA member they also does this....

pooja123, good to know the desi work around :D
Just curious, how to find the desi owned UPS?

I visited nearest UPS store, fortunately I found one... if you visit UPS in 10 mile radius, finding UPS/ Dunkin Dounts owned by desis (patels) is easy in East cost..

Looks like East cost is different in many aspect then West cost, I have searched more then 25 mile radius and found none, no one was willing to give a single panny discount.
I have posted the similar line query a few weeks ago and got the mix opinion from ppl about notary practice.

If interested go through:

Thanks for all the responses. I will try at one of those places. I also heard something about Auto tag. These ppl also notarize for abt $2 or $5. Have to find out.

Every state is different, you would get better advice if you tell us your state / city.

Depending on what state you are in, Fedex Kinkos provides notary services.

Many public libraries have notary services

Court houses have notary services

Notary publics are listed in the phone book, online, etc...

You can get your documents notarized from the local police department as well.I went to get FBI fingerprints from local police department and they asked me if I want to get it notarized as well. They told me that they can notarized other documents also. She wasn't aware of the charges but if there is charge it has to be less than that of other agencies.

I had all documents notarized ie birth, marriage etc at our bank. They did it for free. The only thing they required was that we had an account there and that of course they could see (and feel) the original. I think I overkilled it and had more notarized then what was asked for but better to have too much then not enough
