I'm a Canadian living in Canada and my American wife has applied for residency. She is living with me in Toronto right now (she has a visitor record in her passport). We applied for her as someone living outside the country and I was approved as a sponsor back in January. As I understand it the next step will be this PPR thing. Will that get mailed to me in Canada, her US address, e-mailed?

Because they will be asking for her passport, I do believe it will be to her address. Now that you are finished with the sponsorship side, you are essentially 'done' with paperwork and it is all now on her until Visa issued.

*EDIT: I should however note, that the US is visa exempt, so likely she won't even have to send her passport in, since it won't need a stamp, and she'll get her COPR in the physical mail when the decision is made.

For US citizens, PPR will come via e-mail (assuming she provided an e-mail address) and you can submit a scan of the passport and attach it to the e-mail reply.

COPR will come via snail mail and it will go to the mailing address they have listed for your wife (not you). So whatever your wife put down as her mailing address in her application will be where COPR will go.

Cool. So it would come as an e-mail to my e-mail address or hers? I'll have to double check which e-mail addresses we put in that form.

thanks for the quick replies!

Yup

After sponsorship approval, all future correspondence from the case officer will go to the person being sponsored (your wife). Her address, her e-mail, phone calls to her phone. Unless specifically instructed otherwise.
