Where is my visa? :( (applied for TRV from within Canada)

So I applied for a TRV from within Canada on Nov 13th.
I was planning to go travel in late December, however, I never heard back from Ottawa so that trip was cancelled.
I still haven't heard anything back from them and it has now been over 2 months. Any idea what could be going on?
It seems like calling them will not get me anywhere, from what I have read on these threads.
I am on a study permit..

you shouldn't assume that calling them wouldn't get anywhere. You should call them and they will look into it. Call center wouldn't be much help if you call within the posted processing time.
