My husband is getting the medical done in Fortaleza, Brazil..the doctors office is charging an extra R 160 to send the medical forms to Trinidad and Tobego..is that where they are supposed to go? I thought they were forwarded to Sao Paulo, maybe I misunderstood?!?! Thank you if you can help me clear that up :)

All medical exam from south america is send to Trinidad & Tobago.

There is the Regional Medical center, Overseas Health management service from all south america application.

In this office your medical will be review and enter inside the computer program by a official doctor.

Hi Cdagal - my husband has just been approved to return to Canada (yay!), however, his medical exam expired on July 13, and he needs to get it re-done before they will issue him his visa. He plans to go to the doctor in BH. I'm not sure how it all works when you get the exam done in Brazil... I hope you don't mind me asking... How long did it take for them to receive your results in SP? How much did it cost in total?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, MVK

My husband had his medical done in Fortaleza, the total cost was 450 Reals, but in Sao Paulo the prices were alot higher when we were looking around. As for the time, I am unsure as we did the medical about a month before filing and only filed July 7, so as yet our file is not in Sao Paulo. Wish I could be of more help!

All results from anywhere in Brazil are sent to Trinidad Tobago where they are entered into a data base. The barcode on your copy is how Sao Paulo gets the results to their computer. The costs are different for every doctor.Once you get the form from the doctor for your medicals forward it to Sao Paulo right away they can access those results right away.

They charged us the same way here in Bolivia - one cost for the med. exams plus x-rays, blood test, etc. and then a seperate cost to send them via DHL to Trinidad & Tobago. The doctor explained every test from South Am. is processed there, as mentioned above by other posters.

it costs us 500 reais for 2 people and that included the shipment to trinidad tobago... this is from Sao Paulo.

When we were looking for a DMP for my husband, some of the ones in Sao Paulo quoted us upwards of 800 R, plus lab fees for just his medical alone. It seems to pay to call around a little :)
