Hi

I got a request from CIC to perform the
Police Certificate: A certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints

Is it normal for all?
Where I can do this in Mississauga/Toronto?
What is the process to follow for this?

Regards

hi, i did mine from these guys www.fips.ca
they are located on Hurontario & steeles,, i did from there keele/finch office.
they were pretty friendly, they took my fingerprints & picture electronically and sent a request to RCMP themselves.
I got my RCMP report mailed to my house in 2 weeks. I did nothing else than going there and paying them around $55.

when did you file your application?

You can do it anywhere at RCMP accredited fingerprinting services . I did mine in Brampton close to new hospital , if you need address send me PM . I got my certificate in 5 days and then I mailed it to Cic on my own.

I talked to commissionaires and they said they will take $50 and will take the fingerprints and upload the digital copy to RCMP and then RCMP will send this to CIC? Is it the way it works? And he said it will take 2 to 2.5 weeks? Can we confirm if RCMP is reached to CIC? They are located in 6200 Dixie Road.

Hey rick1111>> Can you please provide the name where you did your RCMP?

Hey,

I also recently got that request from CIC.

I went to Morpho fingerprint solutions in Etobicoke (Bloor and Islington), paid $45 and had them mail the results to the CIC.

The whole thing is weird...why are they asking us specifically for RCMP checks?! But it happens...

Do I have to submitt my dependent family also?
the email indicated ony my UCI number.

If I have to send my family's also, do they send in one envelop?
or do I have to specify like "dependent on My file number and name"?

@bickyii @mishki Can you guys please help me?

I got a request from CIC that I need to submit a Police Certificate: A certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints.

For this Can I go to any RCMP accredited private agency or Do I need to go RCMP itself?

Thanks for you help.

CIC does a name-based criminal record check for all applicants. If the name-based check is clear, then it's done. But if the name-based check comes back with a criminal record (someone else has the same name as you), then the only way to clear you is through the use of fingerprints.

It's not unusual, but you're in the unfortunate minority.

Electronic fingerprints are processed much more quickly than paper-based.

you can go to some private agency and they will take your electronic fingerprints and will submit request to RCMP on your behalf.
RCMP will mail you your clearance letter. Check www.fips.ca for agency from where i get my RCMP cert

Hi Experts,

I also got request for "Police Certificate: A certified RCMP criminal record check based on fingerprints." today . Initially I was shocked why they asked this . but after reading threads i believe it is common
I have below Question (Appreciate if some one can guide me )

1) Do This certificate required only for Principal applicant or for Dependent also (including child)?
2) In CIC Website it is written I can get Police certificate by two method ( accredited companies or by police services).Which one is fast and what is basic difference?
3) Agency/ police department send police certificate directly to CIC ? or I need to send it ?
4) DO I will also receive any mail/hard copy for my reference from this agency/ police department ?
5) If Point 3 answer is Yes (Agency/ police department send police certificate directly to CIC) Then after I complete my RCMP criminal record check , Should I reply to the mail received by CIC (ex: saying I did blah blah and soon you will receive this form agency /police department) Or should I need to write paper mail to CIC ? Is it required ?
6) Last but not least can some one suggest me any agency name in North york, Toronto area?

Please please :( clear my doubts :'(

Thanks
