Congrats sramamur!sramamur said:Good news, received a passport request for my mom from New Delhi this morning. However, my mom and I will be flying from India to Canada on October 10, 2016 - a trip which was arranged a few months ago. Is it okay to send the passport after we land in Canada? In this case, the passport will be sent to CPC-Ottawa office.
I am not sure whether we have time to send the passport to New Delhi for stamping and get it back by October 9th. Also, I cannot change my travel plans because of work commitments.
Does anyone know a contact number for CPC-Ottawa office? I tried calling the general CIC number - apparently this number is valid for Canada and US only.
Thanks in advance for your advice,
Sridhar.
P.S. For those of you interested in my mom's timeline:
Application received: January 10, 2014.
Sponsorship approved: March 2016.
Medical, PCC, RPRF request: June 29, 2016
Request for my dad's death certificate: September 25, 2016
Passport request: October 4, 2016.
Yes, that is correct. My in-laws have recently submitted their medical (passed), PCC and RPRF documents. Hope theirs get processed in the next few months.Rossei said:Congrats sramamur!
I assume from your previous posts that both your applications have been processed by CPC-O, yet you received PPR from NDVO for one of your applications (your mom). Is that right?
BTW, I entered your info into 2014 SS: sramamur #1 (your mom) and sramamur #2 (in-laws).

You can wait and send your passport after you reach to Canada or send some one to New Delhi and they will print the passport on same day.
you just need to visit embassy and show your ticket and they will take your passport and ask you to come back after 4 and they will ready for you.
I did same to my wife in 2010.
Thanks.
