Thank you! I called CIC and can't go through. I checked CSQ website and they said they'll process it with in 25 business day. I'm planning submitting my application with the email that they sent to my parents first, and send the approval letter later.

Hello, I am in the same situation as you. I called CIC and the agent sent an internal email to CIC Mississauga asking them to send me the Sponsorship approval letter which he said might take up to a month. You need this letter to apply for CSQ. They will not accept anything else to replace it. Then I sent a reply email to the same address that requested CSQ informing them about the missing Sponsorship approval letter and requesting they put our application on hold until we receive it. I didn't get any reply after that. But even if we had the letter, getting the CSQ in 45 days in a very tight deadline so not sure if we can make it on time. As for medicals, my parents did them as the agent said they have to do them within 30 days regardless of CSQ. We didn't receive Police certificate request though. I suggest you call CIC and inform them about your situation and let you parents do the medicals and get their police certificate. At least you would have submitted everything and explained why you can't get CSQ by the dealine requested. Please update here whenever you get any response or if anything new in your application occurs.

Yes 25 business days if you add weekends to that and the time for mailing the application and receiving the CSQ, it will probably be 45 days if not more, assuming Canada Post don't go on strike which is what Immigration Quebec sends their documents with. Keep trying to call CIC, usually early morning Montreal time is best and you can also call Immigration Quebec and ask them if they accept the email you were sent. You don't want to risk your application being refused for something that is not your fault.

I called CIC this morning and I was told that I don't need approval letter. The one, my parents received is good to approve CIC's approval.

You have to call Immigration Quebec to see if they would accept it not CIC.

Good Morning;

Wondering what is the current procedure for processing family class applications submitted in 2014. Applied to sponsor my mom and current status is as follows:

Application received: January 10, 2014.
Sponsorship approved: March 30, 2016.
Presently asked to undergo (1) medical examination (completed two days ago), (2) get police certificate (will be sent early next week) and (3) pay Right of Permanent Residence Fee by August 13.

My mom has Indian passport, presumably her application is being processed in New Delhi.

Can someone please let me know what would be the next steps and an approximate timeline if possible?

Much appreciated,

Sridhar.

Hi...you're not alone. I'm in the same boat-no update, no news. :(
Some happy news at last! I received the approval of sponsor letter in the mail yesterday. Our application has now been sent to the visa office in Dar-es-Salaam Tanzania for further processing. The online info still states 'application received'!

What's the next step? Would my parents be contacted directly regarding the medical requests and PCC? Or? How is that communication normally made-email or snail mail?

Does anyone have any experience with the visa office in Dar-es-Salaam? How long would this step take?

Thank you all!

Hello!

I had applied for my parent's PR in Jan 2014. They received an email on June 29th asking to undergo medicals and to submit PCC from India by August 13, 2016. Currently they are visiting Canada on super visa and will be here till September 18. I have sent an email asking for extension of deadline to submit medicals and PCC(since getting PCC done here through Indian embassy takes about 6 weeks). Does anyone know if they do give extension under such circumstances?

Thanks!

I have received three emails from CPC-Ottawa today for PCC, RPRF and medicals of my parents' PR application.

@ siter_pakhi - I will email them PCC as they suggested in that email -

- Please provide us with a scanned copy of an original police clearance certificate.
- Please reply directly to this email and put your application number in the title.
- Please send us scanned versions of the requested documents. Please do not submit originals, unless otherwise stated, as documents submitted will not be returned.

@Sridhar,

My timeline is exactly the same as that of yours.you have to ascertain whether the email you have received is from VO New Delhi or CPC Ottawa.If it is from New Delhi,further process of application will be there only.Your parent shall have to send the required docs. to New Delhi office.Amount of Rprf can be paid in INR by way of bank draft payable at New Delhi in favour of "Canadian High commission, New Delhi".It may take six to eight weeks to arrive at final decision on the application.

Good luck. God bless all !!!

Thank you so much for your reply. My mom was asked to send the medical to:

CPC-Ottawa, NHQ - Centralized Processing Region
219 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON
K1A 1L1, Canada

We are also supposed to scan the police certificate and send it by email. Also asked to pay the Rprf in CDN$.

Does this mean her application is being processed by CPC Ottawa? Is there any time difference between processed at CPC Ottawa and New Delhi? Thanks again for your help.

Yes, Good luck to us all! Hope it goes through quickly for all of us.

Sridhar.
