Any ideas by when can we expect PR for our parents?
My parents application accepted in 2014 and I got AOR in Jun-2014.
Hopefully, in 2 years ::)

They are working on applications that are in the backlog. My parents application was accepted in June 2011. :o Nothing yet (not even the step 1...) :'(

My application is in French and from Quebec. I received the email confirmation in June/2014, but I still don't have access to login in the website. I tried with the application file number sent in this email and the automatic message is:

Someone else in the same situation or only me?......

The due date for family class sponsorship eligibility is December, 2015....hopefully CIC will do something by that time.

The ban was put in place in Nov 2011 till Jan 2014 so if the Dec 2010 applications are being processed now, can the the Jan 2014 applications be processed in 2016? thoughts?

Hoping someone can help...I called CIC in Jan to tell them that they entered my mother's address incorrect into the system and they told me they couldn't access the application and that I should email CIC Mississauga. I emailed them on Jan 5 and 2 months later I have yet to receive a reply. Has anyone used their Canadian address to receive documents for their parents? I am worried that when they will eventually send stuff the address will be wrong.

cpc-miss. usually communicates by email for the decision on sponsorship, if email address was provided.
You may order GCMS notes (on cic website) to confirm if address is corrected in the system.
Perhaps send them a letter or fax for change of address, not sure if they check/receive emails

I applied for my parents in 2014 as permanent resident but now I am a Canadian citizen. Should I update the application? Do you know how?
I still unable to access the system with the application number.

Quick question for you guys....I applied for my parents in 2014 january as well.

Now my family status has changed and I also want to send them Option C printout (I sent them NoA) when I applied. My adress has also changed since.

How do I go about doing this and updating CIC? Do I send them a mail with the file number from the AOR email. or should I email them?

Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated guy.

I don't believe you need to update your file with changes to your parents and grandparents addresses. You are still in the first stage "Assessing the sponsor" that is assessing you. If you yourself change address you need to update them but I wouldn't worry about parents change of status as of yet.

Hello everyone,

Has there been any update on anyone's file for parent sponsorship applications sent in January 2014???

Looks like the forum is quiet for a long time now?

Thanks!

From all calculations, looks like we're waiting at least until end of 2016 or even 2017.

If the PGP backlog was predicted correct at 42,387 in mid-2015 (around now); CIC claims to clear them in 2.7 years (don't know why it says 2.7 years; it should be 2.1 years if CIC processes 20,000 app per year). Hopefully, 10,000 apps from 2014 and 2015 are included in this magic number of 42,387.

If that's true, CIC will perhaps finish processing 42,387 - 10,000 = 32,387 apps by early 2017. Then, they will have 20,000 apps from 2014 to 2017 (5,000 each year) in hand which they will probably start from mid-2017. By the end of 2017, both 2014 & 2015 applicants should get update/ sponsorship approval (could even extend to 2016 apps).

If the above case isn't the fact (2014 & 2015 apps are not included in 42,387); then it could even delay till 2018. Well, this is just my prediction.

BTW, do you guys maintain any spreadsheet with updates other than https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sgeOdqXukodTnF_aKnu-iNSxeUistM0jZIw39618hJo/edit#gid=0 which only shows payment acceptance?

I am on the same situation like yours. I applied for my parents in January 2014 and I am one of the first 5,000 applicants. I check the e-status and it is showing that CIC received my application. I guess I should have to wait for couple of more years to get back from CIC.

I am worried that my father's super visa will expire in 2016 with expire of his passport. Does anyone know if I will be able to apple to renew my father's super visa after his passport is renewed for another 5 years?

My mom's PP and SuperVisa will expire on 17-Jan-2017 while her 2-year stay permit will expire sooner (31-Oct-2016). Therefore, I'm not sure if I can apply for an extension since all 3 don't line up properly. If I apply with a renewed passport 30 days prior to 31-Oct-2016 (while her visa still valid for another 3.5 months); I don;t know what CIC would think of it.

But in your case, you probably can apply for an extension. It's called Authorized Period of Extended Stay - Parents and Grandparents. It's same as regular visitor visa extension but with an added checklist for Super Visa category. Not that many did it in past, so people are not confident about it in this forum.
