CIC wouldn't be worried about certified cheques and money orders, as they are guaranteed funds. They will probably deposit all of them together. If you really want to check on your applications, you can call CIC help desk and ask for the notes on your file regarding the sponsorship application. If you application is accepted, they would probably tell you "sponsorship application is deemed complete"...

Good luck!

Thank you. But since we do not have the file number allotted yet, how do we refer to our files when we call CIC?

CIC may be able to find your file through your UCI number.

That's right! You just need to tell them your UCI number.

I am in the same situation. I applied on Jan. 7th. Cheque has not yet been cashed.

And if your application was received on the 7th and you haven't heard anything since then, that can be a good indication that your application is accepted. Good luck!

A curious question to all who have submitted their application by courier – was your application package received (signed) by Tania at CIC-M?

Mine was said to be received by Tania.. !! Did you use same day delivery who don't provide online signatures and concerned whether they delivered? I used the same kind of a service, and was told over the phone it was Tania who received and my CC is charged, so if that is the case, don't worry :)

I used UPS and yes received by the same person you mentioned but I wasn't sure about asking or providing name online. So looks like all courier package was received by same person.

If someone does not have 2010 income, and waiting to get 2013 tax return and apply with 2011, 2012, and 2013 returns, which will be in march end or early april, do you guys think, quota will be full by then?? please advise what is the likelihood of quota be gone. Thanks!

In my opinion, get you documents ready... maybe you will be able to use them for next year. I feel that by the time march ends, the quota will be over, and if that is the case you will start hearing from people whose packages were returned without being opened. If SOMEHOW the quota is not gone, well then you will be ready for that too...

CIC is not accepting applications based on 2013 NOAs, as they clearly did not display or post the 2013 LICO amounts to their webpage. They are only accepting 2010, 2011 and 2012 for qualifying purposes for this year. Plus, most likely the 5000 quota is already filled right now... absolutely zero chance by March.

So get everything ready, and prepare to apply asap in Jan 2015 assuming the program re-opens with the same rules.

Every single package will be opened for sure :P because they can't find the return address otherwise !! But hope most with eligibility makes the cut to the 5000. 5000 looked so small at the beginning but now a month into it and it is going strong... !! hope payment gone means, in 5000..

No one received the acknowledgement though :(

I thought all couriered packages had the senders address stamped out the outside of the package or on the label. So really there shouldn't be any need for CIC to open. They would just stamp "return to sender", and throw it right back in the mail.
