All new data is now on Google spreadsheet including CC charge updates. Thanks.

Posted our PGP sponsorship forms on 2nd Jan, arrived morning of the 6th Jan and CC has been debited today 21st Jan. Am presently living with my daughter , who is my sponsor, on a Super Visa for 24 months. Tried to update the google spreadsheet, but to no avail. One question , does anyone know, if the CC is debited, does that mean you are in the first 5000. Have the docs been checked for errors etc.? Thank you for this wonderful forum. So comforting to read comments of folk in a similar situation.

We assume they would have been checked for errors before taking the money. Having to refund the incorrectly completed applications would be quite an administrative task.

Welcome to the forum! I have to update the spreadsheet and yours is now added. Regarding your CC charge, yes that means you are in the 5000 cap and in the initial assessment they haven't found any missing forms or data.

Pls update mine as well :

Application received at 8:40 pm on 6th Jan, 2014

1100 charged on my CC on Jan 20th

thanks

I was short by $ 4000 for 2010 LICO, still they charged my Credit card. Just keeping my fingers crossed

That most likely means you have taken one of the 5000 spots due to having a complete app, but will be refused later during first round of processing. You really should have waited until 2015 to apply so you wouldn't have needed the 2010 NOA, as now you will probably have to wait until sometime in 2015 or 2016 just to get to first stage processing and find out you've been refused for this app.

Whether someone is in the 5000 apps submitted in Jan 2014, or one of the 5000 in Jan 2015, considering the current backlog the total times until parents get PR will probably be pretty similar.

So you basically took away someone else's chance that actually pass the 2010, 2011 and 2012 LICOs at getting in the 5000 cap since you will likely be rejected due to not meeting the 2010 LICO.

Congratulations on getting in without all the requirement and taking one who is eligible out. It is sad that CIC is not following its own rules in filtering the applications and ensure those have met all the basic criteria get into the top 5000. Feels like a lottery now !!

With the expected flood of applications, you can't expect them to go through each application with a fine tooth comb with limited resources they have now. So the best compromise was to make sure all the required documents are there, regardless if they pass lico or not, and add it to 5000 cap. Deal with the disqualification later after the cap is reached.

You are part of the reason for processing delays, wasting CIC's time sending in applications that do not meet the requirements!!!!! :(

Here is a link someone posted regarding the volume of applications and the rejection rates thus far.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/2014-parent-sponsorship-application-7000-received-2500-opened-1300-returned-t182188.0.html

I be curious to hear from people that will come back on here to say that their application have been returned, especially those that tried to submit 2013 paystubs to compensate for not meeting the 2010 lico.
