When will the India-UAE travel ban end (they didn't give a date)? When will Canada's 30 day ban extension be announced (if it happens)?

While this is not directly related to flight suspension but On a contrary, Prime Minister Trudeau today urgued Provinces to continue have strict public health measures like one in Ontario to drive cases to a way down. He echoed Dr. Tams suggestions to lift restrictions when 75% of population received first shot, and 20% second shot.

If they vaccinate 75% people with first shot it will be good for us. Even in india vaccination rate is good compared to other countries with high population. Lets see what happens.

40% people have already received 1st vaccine shot, there is a good chance that they will pass 75% mark by July/August
Very possible by August to Sept provided there’s no logistic interruption with the Manufacturer. Rolling average is at 60k in BC per day, hopeful before end of May BC will be above 50%plus

But cases are decreasing and i think india reached its peak so there is a chance that flights will reopen. Also it may be possible that more restrictions will be set in canada like 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine. Plus vaccination rate is good in india if you compare the population.
Things take time.

Just thought I'd update anyone interested. Air Canada canceled their flights till June 2 for their own operational reasons related to Covid. They have not mentioned federal restrictions such as those of Canada or India specifically. Maybe due to their losses in Q1 they had to make some changes?

As for Qatar Airways, they hold the only routes that seems plausible for Indian Students going to Canada but ONLY after May 22 as they do not offer testing at Doha's Hamad Airport (confirmed by their twitter support) and ONLY if Canada's 30 day ban ends.

UAE is a no-no because they have no end date and I think they will be closed until mid-June. (Emirates and Etihad).

You are right and if you're an Indian and don't know, Qatar has a visa free entry for upto 30 days for Indian nationals, so in case you have to stay there you just have to worry about accommodation costs not the visa cost.

Air canada has cancelled flights till june 22 so i guess travel will start from august only. As canada is trying to delay the arrivals of international students mostly from india.

It makes sense. There's no way the government was going to lift the ban on May 21. They've probably given some airlines a heads up and that's why AC has shifted out their dates.

Ya i get it they have to protect their own citizen so they were not going to lift the ban too soon. Also i knew it from the day when they banned the flights that they don't want international students coming from india till august so this is going to continue till fall semester comes and even then we don't know the situation that what will happen. So hope for the best and be ready for the worst.
