Hello,

Does anyone know when will the NOC code 1111 - Accountant be back on the demand list??

No one knows it.

Only when there will be a huge shortage of accountants in CANADA, then only the immigration minister will consider this NOC in the demand list again.

It is never predicted. According to Human Resources they can put new categories and according to any demand fulfilled they can remove any category..

keep in touch wid al members here... u ll come to kno very soon...

I suspect they will revise the list every one or two years now and nobody knows what they will change each time.

Maybe two and a half years? But also maybe when it's back, the requirement will change to only CPA is eligible to claim NOC1111.

I think that as long as the application year will be from July 1st to June 30th like they are planning, they will have to announce changes in June so people can know if they can apply.

This is really very sad that they have removed 1111 but as per currenlty the chances to 1111 coming back is very remote

there are a large number of applications received in these NOCs. and according to their survery, there is little demand so they removed it.
according to my understanding, they will approve only 1000 applications in an NOC /year. so even if it comes back after a year, there is gonna be competition.

To kashif_nouman03,
Yes you are right. In which year you applied??????
I am losing patience as I am waiting from long time.Although I believe Its all in the hands of Allah.

its bad luck as I was going to apply within few weeks time for the 1111 category and now they have removed it..the only option left is to wait i guess..

thanks all for your inputs..

I think there is still a strong demand for skilled finance professionals in Canada (you need only look at the job websites for Canadians). The Noc1111 will not return to the occupation list until Canadian officials have exhausted the tens of thousands of existing Noc1111s already in the old system (pre 2008).

Remember from Canada's point of view alot of financial professionals for the big international firms can come across very easily through the job offer route. So Noc1111 together with a whole heap of other Nocs are still valid it's just that you need a job offer. This may be difficult from the applicants point of view but not from Canada's perspective given that demand far outstrips supply.

Also, most finance people coming to Canada have to take a more junior role initially so that they can gain experience. This suits some more than others.

So, I think it will be some time before Noc1111 comes back onto the short list as it already exists on the job offer route, which is really tough for most people who don't work for big international companies which can facilitate transfers. Those working in Audit/Business advisory for one of the big 4 accountancy firms (PWC etc) should be better placed, as long as they don't mind taking a step down.

It's all about the sacrifice, being genuinely flexible and being realistic.

To SandR,
Yes its true.
