Processing time for my country is 6.5 months as of today, this sucks,I'mma re-apply for next Fall cycleSadly Covid created a huge backlog, it'll be a long minute before they recover to old processing times. They'r still finishing up fall applicants
These are not accurate tho. My country's processing time switched from 24 weeks to 7. Some applicants got processed in a month (and approved before me, who applied 5 months before).Processing time for my country is 6.5 months as of today, this sucks,I'mma re-apply for next Fall cycle

Once things open up (VFS) in your country it'll be a lot faster. You did the right thing deferring to next fall tho. Online learning sucks
I am in the same situation and IRCC officers do not understand this.I think I have worst scenerio out of all, As I got admit for prestigious McGill University for the September 2020 intake, later I had to defer due to Covid-19, and now IRCC is not able to process my application on time moreover, they are not opening VACs in India for biometrics, hence I am not able to complete my file with biometrics, on top of all this, last week University sent me mail that AIP or study permit is mandatory in order to complete course enrollment and last date for that is 14 December, which is impossible for me considering the way ircc is working. And university won't provide option for second deferral, ultimately they will rescind my admission. Now, I have lost all hopes, my all hard-work of past 1.5 years has gone into vain, Getting admitted into the McGill for next year seems nearly impossible as competition is going to be very tough. Have you all ever heard that someone didn't get chance to attend the University because his visa didn't get processed on time?, well here i am. I wish all of you all the best and hope that your dreams of studying in Canadian universities will come true.
Re-applying is not bad of a choice considering present situation.Mcgill is definitely more competitive, but I think they might even increase the admits next coz many ppl are taking covid gap year.I think I have worst scenerio out of all, As I got admit for prestigious McGill University for the September 2020 intake, later I had to defer due to Covid-19, and now IRCC is not able to process my application on time moreover, they are not opening VACs in India for biometrics, hence I am not able to complete my file with biometrics, on top of all this, last week University sent me mail that AIP or study permit is mandatory in order to complete course enrollment and last date for that is 14 December, which is impossible for me considering the way ircc is working. I don't think so. The competition will probably be the same. Plenty of universities celebrated record numbers in New students. Plus universities take previous admissions into account. Don't give up! After big global economic crisis. I do not think so. I believe most of the students will be domestic ones.I don't think so. The competition will probably be the same. Regular
Uni in DLI list
They will give priority to those (regardless of intake) who have their applications completed which means who have their biometrics done along with having their college on the COVID approved list. Majority of people in the backlog don't have biometrics done so they won't work on them.I might get hated for my comment but the reality is that it will take at least until late 2021/ early 2022 for normalcy in processing. They have openly made the statement that they will not proceed without clearing 2020 backlogs and it's their priority at the moment. Not even a single applicant I heard of got approved for Winter 2021 normally. They said they will filter out the refusals first for Winter 2021 in the webinar, either way the approvals will take time to reach.
Yes, only complete applications from 2020 with DLI on the list will get priority. They will give priority to those (regardless of intake) who have their applications completed which means who have their biometrics done along with having their college on the COVID approved list.
